The main components of the cross belt iron sorting unit are the frame, the motor and gear, the magnetic unit and the rubber belt. The magnetic part of the iron separation unit is installed with permanent magnets, which continuously ensures iron separation in the system, even if there is a shutdown. The advantage of the unit is that the built-in permanent magnets significantly exceed the life of the electromagnets and, in addition to the electrical supply of the drive unit, it does not require any other electrical service unit.

The system is self-cleaning. The magnetic unit does not require maintenance, however, when replacing or repairing the tape or the drive unit, the following must be taken into account:

Persons with a pacemaker or implant must keep a distance of at least 3 meters from the iron removal unit. Installation must be carried out by at least two people. In all cases, the units should only be assembled using protective equipment and safety devices, e.g.: protective gloves, safety glasses, anti-magnetic tools. When using tools, it must be taken into account that traditional tools are affected by the magnetic field, so their use requires extra attention.
